Accessible Zilvermeer
The Provincial Recreation Area Zilvermeer continuously makes great efforts to guarantee and improve accessibility on the area.

Attractions

The water playground promises water fun for all children. Toddlers and preschoolers, with or without a wheelchair, can enjoy themselves on the boat between water-spraying rings, flowers and trees. The promenade along it is also fully accessible for wheelchair users.

Fishing pond: there is a jetty at the fishing pond where you can cast your fishing rod from the trolley.

Market square: the entire market square is built at the same height.

The infrastructure of minigolf, rowing and pedal boats, go-carts and minicars: this is adapted to receive buggies and wheelchairs. A large part of the minigolf is accessible.

Cycling and walking

On the Zilvermeer estate, the largely paved paths are easily accessible with a wheelchair.

The parking spaces on and around the estate are accessible for people with disabilities.

Accessible beach

At the day entrance, spacious access gates are provided so that buggies and wheelchair users can easily enter. A paved beach road has been constructed around the beach. In the beach building, accessible toilets and showers are provided.

Hospitality establishments IJsvogel, Glinstering and Zilverbos are easily accessible and equipped with adapted sanitary facilities. An elevator is provided at the party and meeting room above the IJsvogel.

Adapted beach wheelchairs

Free wheelchairs are available at the day entrance and the camping reception.

The Wombat is a specially designed wheelchair to give people with limited mobility the opportunity to get to know the beautiful nature and beach of the Zilvermeer. The large tires make it easier to push the wheelchair on unpaved roads such as in forests, rural areas and in the sand.
