Postel Abbey
In the northern corner of our parish, close to the Dutch border, you will find the wooded area of Postel, boasting an imposing abbey dating from the twelfth century. The Norbertine monks have been living and working in the area ever since, always honouring their great tradition of hospitality.

Their white monk's habit has given rise to their nickname of the 'white men'. They practised forestry, agriculture and cattle breeding. In order to support themselves they brewed beer and made cheese. These activities have now grown into a true artisan industry,  attracting many visitors. However bustling life outside may be, once inside the abbey walls you will find a remarkable sense of peace.
