You have a choice of:
- Paddle route Dessel – Turnhout : 26 km with 7 entry points
- Paddle route Dessel – Herentals : 23 km with 6 entry points
Both routes are fully signposted and specifically designed for canoes, kayaks, and SUPs. Along the way, you will find clear information boards with rules, tips, and information about nature and the surrounding area.
Start in Mol or join along the way
In our municipality, you start at the Mokka kayak club (Den Diel), one of the official entry and exit points. Additionally, there are several places along the routes where you can easily get on and off the water, on average every 5 km.
This is how you choose:
- a short trip
- a longer process
- or even a multi-day paddling trip
Thanks to the combination with walking and cycling routes and the presence of restaurants, cafes, and accommodation, you can easily turn it into a full day or weekend.
Accessible to everyone
The paddling routes are accessible and suitable for a wide group:
- families and beginners
- sporty recreationalists
- clubs and groups
- multi-day paddlers
You do not need a reservation. You bring your own equipment or rent it at a rental point.
Practical: free to use
You can paddle all year round, without fixed opening hours. The route may be temporarily adjusted only in exceptional weather conditions or during interventions by water management. Please bear in mind that there is boat traffic on the canal, so adhere to the navigation rules!
Strong collaboration behind the project
The paddling routes are a joint realization of Sport Vlaanderen, the participating municipal authorities, land managers, tourism entrepreneurs, and Tourism Province Antwerp. Together, they ensure a safe, clear, and attractive water experience in the region.
