More info

In the spring of 2022, the visitor and meeting centre Tabloo officially opened its doors in our neighbouring municipality of Dessel. The interactive exhibition on radioactivity, radioactive waste management and research into nuclear applications is central to Tabloo.

Tabloo as a visitor center

In the Tabloo expo, visitors are introduced to the theme of radioactivity through numerous interactive exhibits. They discover how radioactive waste is managed, how the population helps to find solutions and what research is being done into nuclear applications.

In addition to the expo, Tabloo also houses brasserie Bistroo, a tourist information point and a knowledge space where you can learn more about NIRAS and the nuclear history of the region. Outside, there is a landscape park with a playground and you can take a walk to the location of the future repository. That makes Tabloo an exciting destination for a (half) day trip.

Tabloo as a meeting place

In addition to a visitors' centre, Tabloo also wants to be a lively meeting place for people from Dessel and Mol and from further away. An open (t)home where people come together to have a good time, attend activities or organise something themselves. Tabloo has many facilities available for this: a theatre hall, an event meadow, an exhibition space and various multi-purpose rooms. Parties can be held in brasserie Bistroo.
